Batch Two; From Kili Tanzania Music Awards 2013

And we are back with the last batch of images from the Kili Awards 2013..red carpet looks. Well,in this batch,we have a tie for the best of the best dressed....At the top is Wema Sepetu and Myler Nyangasa, both rocking Eve Collection designs.

Wema chose a black and red affair, having the Maasai culture going on....we love the cuts at the back...and the little view of the uuuummmm on the front

Myler went for red and floral patterns, with high slit on the from and an open back. the details of the bodice is excellent...and that frontal slit...mmmy ooh my!
This is the uuuummm view i was talking about...who doesn't like a little mystery?
And for Myler...observe the way the collar of the dress hugs around her neck, love it!..So,Wema and Myler share the best of the best dressed for this batch. Remember, all those who adhered to the Kikwetu Kwetu theme are part of the BEST DRESSED category....

The woman behind all of our best of the best dressed ladies,Eve Collection...shining like a start in a star patterned dress of her own creations. Posing with her,is her dear mama...Kudos to you,Eve

 Rocking a Frankoo Design,this is Zamaradi...Kitenge mixed with velvet,colors everywhere...and to top it up,the bow tie....speechless.

On the gentlemen side,I have to give it up to this gentleman draped in a Gymkhana design! I first saw this design on the Swahili Fashion Week runway of 2011...truly Tanzanian

Martin Kadinda and Mirror,below,...both shining in Martin Kadinda design blazers...

I don't know this guy but he caught my attention. From head to toe,he was on point!

Am sure M.P is not the only one who got intrigued by the suit worn by Ben Paul....Actually,it is a Martin Kadinda design, inspired by the works of Sheria Ngowi. I liked the infusion of Khanga on those pants, and those khakis worked perfect. ....uuummm the shoes though....

Linah...oooh Linah! This time Linah made me see Alicia Keys on that KTMA stage! from her sensual voice to those African curves, she did us justice going for a leather pair of skinny pants, red shirt and African print suspenders with matching bow tie....
The Queen of the red carpet...Jokate a.k.a Jojo...she dazzled us all! If that slit was not enough, the shear embellished top made its statement! With iconic hair style by Rehema,Jokate complimented her partner Millard Ayo to make the red carpet experience, worthwhile

Now...let's go to those who decided to go Hollywood. Ommy Dimpoz kwa Pozzzz...looking sharp like a bawwws....but.....not for Kikwetu Kwetu kinda event

Isha Mashauzi....sorry dada...Hii ilitaka nguo ya Kitanzania au Ki-Afrika....

Beautiful Renee and Jacque...If it was another kinda event, you would have been on the top ten of best dressed...maybe....BUT for this event, nope!

Above and Below....such great suits and ties...however....

Rio Paul, you deserve a punishment indeed! Regardless of the designer of that great masterpiece, you knew better....

I saw several "RIP NGWAIR"...and it was an honorable thing...I just wish it was mixed with something more respectable...like a pair of smart pants and REAL shoes...

Mboni....looking chic...however....

 .......however......
You definitely would have been on the best dressed list if it was for another kinda event....but not KTMA,Kikwetu kwetu.
So,here is what i think happened. Yes, The organizers emphasized on the theme of the event..ooohh we heard it all over radios and TV adverts...BUT one thing they forgot to mention is....GUESTS MUST DRESS IN TANZANIAN OR AFRICAN ATTIRES. That message needed to be communicated boldly and in caps, for everyone to grasp.

Yes we talked about it here....yes,in social media it was a topic too...BUT that is a very small number of people reached. I hope next time an event happen, especially the coming BEAUTY CONTESTS...organizers will communicate their themes directly to the audience.

In a special way,I would like to thank Kili Music Awards 2013 for this year's theme,as it helped people to actually SOURCE Tanzanian designers....let's bridge the gap between these Industries, for the growth of both.

  1. precisely, dont blame people that were not on point if the theme was not communicated!!!! coz as far as i know tanzanian ladies have a lot of dazzling african attire....iam also surprised that you instead compliment other ladies still not on point!! thats music award! not beauty pagent!
