30 Female Food Hero and 40 Maisha Plus Youth Selected

Names of participants who are selected into the second round of the competition. The next step is Verification!  

Verfication:

Female Food Hero will be selected through an online and SMS voting process in order to reach the final 20 participants who will enter the Maisha Plus Village. Prior to this partners of the competition will undertake the verification by documenting the 30 selected names and providing a video footage, photo shoot and background information to be uploaded online.

The slogan for the 2014 Female Food Hero Competition 2014 is Invest in small Farmers it Pays

Maisha Plus Youth will be divided into two groups of 20 each and taken to two selected villages in Zanzibar and Iringa. There they will live with host families and be part and parcel of all activities taking place in the community. The criteria used to judge the youth will be their capacity to provide tangible solution to challenges faced by their respective communities such as water shortages…

After seven days the village members will vote to get 18 youth who will enter the Maisha Plus village. These 18 will be joined by 12 others from Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda
